In a unanimous move, the Senate of Pakistan, chaired by Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani, passed a resolution on Thursday declaring May 25 as Pakistan-Africa Friendship Day.
The resolution underscores the need to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between Pakistan and African nations. Lawmakers emphasized the immense potential for expanding trade and mutual cooperation, particularly in areas like agriculture, education, health, and technology.

The Senate also acknowledged Africa’s longstanding contributions to promoting peace and regional stability, highlighting the continent’s growing global influence.
