A devastating accident at Akhri Mint Stop in Lahore’s Baghbanpura area claimed the lives of at least five people on Wednesday, leaving four others critically injured. The tragedy occurred when a dumper lost control and overturned, crushing two rickshaws and a motorcycle beneath it.
According to Rescue 1122, emergency teams rushed to the scene and managed to rescue four individuals from under the wreckage, who were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Sadly, officials confirmed that five people, including two young girls aged 10 and 12, lost their lives on the spot.

Among the deceased were 24-year-old Dawood, Rafaqat, and two minors, Hafiza and Aima. Rescue sources reported that the dumper was removed and a search was conducted to ensure no one remained trapped. The identification of all victims has been completed.
Punjab Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar has taken serious notice of the incident and directed authorities to submit a full report. He also ordered the arrest of the dumper driver, promising that those responsible will face strict legal consequences.
