Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has expressed deep sorrow over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of at least 26 individuals, including foreign tourists. In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Khan offered his condolences to the victims’ families and called the incident “heinous,” while praying for strength and healing for those affected.
The attack has sparked renewed political and cultural tensions between India and Pakistan. In response, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has reinstated its ban on Pakistani artists, which was originally imposed in 2019. The organization pointed to alleged links between the attackers and Pakistan-based groups.

As a direct result of the FWICE directive, the release of Fawad Khan’s upcoming film Abir Gulaal, co-starring Indian actress Vaani Kapoor, has been suspended in India. The movie was slated for a May 9 release and was considered a significant Indo-Pak collaboration in the entertainment industry.
FWICE has warned all its members against working with Pakistani talent, stating that any production house or artist violating the ban would face disciplinary consequences. Meanwhile, Fawad Khan has not commented on the future of the film, though his message emphasized a desire for peace in difficult times.
