Punjab to Launch Rs81 Crore AI Schools in Lahore

The Punjab government has prepared a plan to establish two Artificial Intelligence (AI) schools in Lahore at an estimated cost of Rs. 81 crore, aiming to modernize the province’s education system and prepare students for emerging technologies.

According to official sources, the initiative will focus on teaching artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced information technology. The goal is to equip students with modern digital skills needed for future employment in a rapidly evolving global economy.

The proposed schools will include smart classrooms, modern computer laboratories, and other technology-based learning facilities. These infrastructure upgrades are designed to create an environment aligned with international education standards.

Authorities are also considering a specialized training program for teachers to help them adapt to AI-based education systems. Officials believe that improving teacher capabilities is essential for the success of this technology-driven initiative.

The project is part of a broader strategy to integrate digital learning into mainstream education across Punjab. By introducing advanced subjects at school level, the government aims to bridge the gap between traditional education and future job market demands.

Officials said the AI schools will play a key role in shaping a skilled workforce capable of competing in the global digital economy. The initiative is expected to gradually expand technology-based learning opportunities across the province.
