Pakistan’s national space agency, SUPARCO, has announced an exciting opportunity for scientists, researchers, and students to submit proposals for experiments for the country’s upcoming human spaceflight mission to China’s space station (CSS).
With Pakistan’s first astronaut expected to travel to the CSS by late 2026, SUPARCO is inviting public participation to help shape this historic mission. Researchers are encouraged to submit proposals for experiments that can be conducted in the unique environment of the CSS, which includes extreme temperatures, a vacuum, and microgravity conditions.

SUPARCO is seeking research across various disciplines, including agriculture, medicine, biotechnology, material sciences, astrophysics, and fluid dynamics. Proposals must be lightweight, cost-effective, and feasible for completion within a week. Additionally, they must align with the CSS’s research objectives and support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The CSS orbits the Earth at an altitude of approximately 380 km, completing one orbit every 92 minutes at a speed of 7.7 km/sec. Successful proposals will have the opportunity to be executed using the CSS’s advanced research facilities, with the potential for high-impact publications, patents, and new commercial products.
The deadline for submission of proposals is April 30, 2025.
