Pitch Conditions and Team Performance

Gurbaz emphasized the need to move forward positively, noting that Afghanistan had expected a sluggish pitch, but it behaved differently from their expectations.

“We felt that we were playing back in home. Hopefully, we will play cricket in Afghanistan as well,” he added.

He also dismissed the notion that Afghanistan’s victories are mere upsets, stating:

“We have beaten every team in the world. It is not right to declare any of our victories as an upset.”

Praise for Rahmat Shah

Gurbaz acknowledged the efforts of Afghan batter Rahmat Shah, who scored 90 off 92 balls, saying:

“We might have emerged victorious today if anybody had extended support to Rahmat when he was batting.”
