Sony’s latest PlayStation State of Play livestream wrapped up with over 40 minutes of thrilling announcements, delivering trailers and updates for highly anticipated PS5 and PSVR 2 titles. From exciting sequels to brand-new games, here’s a summary of the key reveals from the event.

Major Game Announcements

Monster Hunter Wilds showcased a new trailer, revealing its first free update. Fans were also treated to the official reveal of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance and the unveiling of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, a fresh Sonic racing experience. Additionally, Digimon Story Time Stranger debuted, giving fans their first look at the new Digimon RPG. The highly anticipated Lost Soul Aside dropped a new gameplay trailer along with an official release date, and Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii teased a free demo coming soon.

Other highlights included Dave the Diver – Ichiban’s Holiday DLC crossover, Splitgate 2 entering PS5 alpha on February 27, and WWE 2K25 showcasing a new gameplay trailer. Borderlands 4 also made a splash with its first trailer, confirming a release date of September 23, 2025, and an exclusive State of Play event later this year.

New Game Announcements

Among the new reveals, Split Fiction captured attention with a deep dive into the protagonists’ relationship. Directive 8020 – A Dark Pictures Game announced its horror-themed launch for October 2, 2025, while Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic is set to release on June 13, 2025. The atmospheric The Midnight Walk and Darwin’s Paradox were also unveiled.

Additionally, Koei Tecmo’s Roguelike Warrior’s: Abyss became available immediately for PS5 and PS4 players, and Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny confirmed its May 23, 2025, launch on PS4, with Onimusha: Way of the Sword slated for 2026.

Upcoming Titles and DLC

PlayStation fans have plenty to look forward to with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater confirming its release on August 28, 2025, and Hell is Us launching on September 4, 2025. Lies of P: Overture revealed its new DLC expansion, while Days Gone Remastered is arriving for PS5 on April 25, 2025. Other notable updates included Goddess of Victory: Nikke DLC for Stellar Blade and Tides of Annihilation, a challenging action game inspired by the Soulslike genre.

New trailers for Metal Eden, Mindseye, and Blue Prince kept the excitement rolling, with Saros being announced as a first-party PlayStation exclusive from Housemarque, launching in 2026.
