Mystery Deepens in Attack on Bollywood Star Saif Ali Khan at Bandra Residence
MUMBAI: The shocking attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in the early hours of Thursday has taken an unexpected turn, as Mumbai Police reveal that the assailant may have been hiding inside the actor’s Bandra residence well before the incident occurred.
Initially suspected to be a robbery attempt, the investigation has raised new questions, with CCTV footage from the building showing no suspicious activity or unauthorized entries in the two hours leading up to the attack.
The horrifying incident unfolded around 2:30 AM when Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times by an intruder. A female team member was also injured and rushed to the hospital, where her condition remains stable. Saif, however, is still under medical supervision at Lilavati Hospital.

Police Suspect Inside Knowledge
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam confirmed that Saif was attacked inside his home and was rushed to the hospital shortly after. “The actor was admitted to Lilavati Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries. We have launched a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack,” Gedam stated.
Adding to the complexity of the case, no suspicious individuals were captured entering the premises during the critical time frame. This has led investigators to suspect that the attacker may have been inside the residence for some time and possibly had detailed knowledge of its layout.
Staff Questioned as Investigation Intensifies
Mumbai Police have formed seven teams to investigate the attack, leaving no stone unturned. Five members of Saif Ali Khan’s household staff are being questioned, along with the security personnel stationed at the complex.
Authorities are also probing the possibility of an inside job, as initial findings suggest the attacker was familiar with the house’s security measures. One of the household attendants reportedly sustained minor injuries during the scuffle.
Kareena Kapoor Khan Addresses Public
Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif’s wife, reassured fans that the rest of the family was unharmed. She thanked supporters for their prayers and revealed that she was away at a dinner gathering during the attack. Kareena also emphasized that the family remains united and focused on Saif’s recovery.
The couple had recently returned from a family vacation in Switzerland, adding an unexpected layer of shock to the incident.
