Kubra Khan Opens Up About Breaking Beauty Rules

Pakistani actress Kubra Khan has opened up about the criticism she faced regarding her appearance and age during the airing of her drama “Doctor Bahu.” The actress revealed that although she decided not to respond to negative comments publicly, the remarks still affected her emotionally.

During her recent appearance on “Gloss Etc. by Maliha Rehman,” Kubra discussed the online reactions surrounding her on-screen pairing with actor Shuja Asad, who played Salman in the popular drama. She shared her thoughts on how audiences often judge actors based on their looks instead of focusing on their performances.

Host Maliha Rehman mentioned that after the drama’s release, many viewers questioned whether Kubra’s character Sania and Shuja Asad’s Salman appeared suitable as a pair on screen. She also highlighted that Kubra had faced similar discussions during her previous project “Noor Jahan.”

Addressing the criticism, Kubra said that staying silent does not mean she is unaffected by people’s opinions. She explained that hurtful comments can have an impact, even when celebrities choose not to respond publicly.

The actress also spoke about the unrealistic beauty standards often followed in the entertainment industry and society. According to Kubra, there is a limited idea of what is considered beautiful, and many people are judged for not matching that image.

She explained that women are often expected to have specific features, including fair skin, a slim figure, height, or perfect hair, to be accepted as beautiful. Kubra said that those who do not fit these expectations are sometimes made to feel less worthy.

The actress added that she has experienced such judgments for many years but has learned that it is impossible to satisfy every person or seek approval from everyone.

Currently, Kubra Khan is receiving appreciation for her role as Dr. Sania in “Doctor Bahu.” Her performance as a dedicated and strong doctor has gained praise from viewers. The drama highlights issues such as gender discrimination, family pressures, and women’s professional struggles, with Kubra’s emotional acting becoming one of the key strengths of the show.
