COAS Asim Munir Pledges Firm Action Against National Threats

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir met with political leaders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to discuss strategies for maintaining law and order. He stressed that while enemies may try to spread fear, Pakistan will stand firm, and any attempts to disrupt peace will be met with strong and decisive action.

According to ISPR, the Army Chief visited Peshawar, where he was welcomed by the Corps Commander and briefed on the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts. The briefing was also attended by the Federal Interior Minister and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister.

General Munir praised the armed forces and law enforcement agencies for their sacrifices and dedication, noting that their success in combating terrorism is a source of national pride.

He stated, “Our forces, through unmatched bravery, professionalism, and sacrifice, have weakened terrorists by eliminating key leaders, dismantling networks, and destroying infrastructure. This sends a clear message that terrorism has no future in Pakistan. This fight will continue until it reaches its end, InshaAllah.”

He also commended law enforcement agencies for their persistent efforts in protecting citizens and preventing numerous attacks, highlighting their professionalism and readiness.

General Munir reaffirmed that any threat to national peace will be countered with firm and decisive action. He declared, “Though the enemy seeks to spread fear, we will not yield. They will face relentless resistance and suffer heavy losses.”

He also acknowledged the high morale and unwavering dedication of soldiers in defending the country’s sovereignty and unity.

Later, General Munir met separately with political leaders from various parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The discussions underscored the importance of a united political front and public support in eradicating terrorism. Political leaders voiced their full support for the armed forces and agreed that unity beyond political divides is essential to defeat extremist ideologies.
