COAS Munir And US Centcom Commander Discuss Security

Pakistan and the United States have affirmed the importance of increasing training interactions between CENTCOM and the Pakistan Army. This determination was highlighted during a meeting between US CENTCOM Commander General Michael Erik Kurilla and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the meeting focused on shared interests, particularly cooperation in regional security matters. Both parties explored opportunities for joint training.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged and commended Pakistan Army’s achievements in combating terrorism and Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to foster peace and stability in the region, as per ISPR.

General Munir’s previous visit to the US in December last year, his first since assuming office in November 2022, saw meetings with top US officials. During that visit, he also met with the Centcom commander at the Central Command Headquarters in Tampa Bay, Florida.
