An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has granted bail to rights activist and lawyer Imaan Mazari, along with her husband Hadi Ali, in a case involving a security route breach in the federal capital.
ATC Judge Abu Al Hasnat Zulqarnain approved the bail after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) declared their physical remand invalid.
On October 29, the court had initially granted a three-day physical remand for the couple, following a request from Prosecutor Raja Naveed, who argued for a 30-day remand, claiming they posed a security threat to international teams. He also mentioned that a forensic analysis of their videos was necessary and that two additional individuals with them needed to be apprehended.
The defense attorney countered that Hadi Ali’s confrontation was with a person not in uniform.
Following arguments, the court approved a three-day remand for further questioning.
