Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Nepal after devastating floods and landslides. The disaster has claimed lives and caused widespread suffering in the country.
Shehbaz Sharif visited the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad on Thursday. He went there to express condolences over the loss of lives.
Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Rita Dhital, welcomed the prime minister at the embassy. Shehbaz Sharif signed the condolence book opened for the victims of the disaster.
The prime minister expressed deep sympathy to the Government and people of Nepal. He also offered condolences to the families who lost their loved ones.
He said Pakistan stands with Nepal during this difficult period. He described the situation as a time of grief for the people of the country.
Pakistan also plans to provide emergency relief assistance to Nepal. The assistance is expected to be sent later this week.
The support will help ongoing rescue and relief efforts in the affected areas. It will also assist communities facing the impact of the floods and landslides.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that the people of Nepal would recover from the tragedy. He said the resilient nation would emerge stronger after the disaster.
The prime minister also highlighted the strong relationship between Pakistan and Nepal. He described the ties between the two countries as close and long-standing.
According to Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan and Nepal have maintained friendly relations over the years. He said both countries would continue supporting each other during difficult times.
Ambassador Rita Dhital thanked the prime minister for his support and sympathy. She said the gesture would remain memorable for the people of Nepal.
The Nepalese ambassador also briefed Shehbaz Sharif about the current state of bilateral cooperation. The discussion covered relations between Pakistan and Nepal.
The prime minister was accompanied by senior government officials during his embassy visit. The delegation included Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi also accompanied him. Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch was part of the delegation as well.
Other senior officials were also present during the visit. The meeting highlighted Pakistan’s continued support for Nepal during its current crisis.
Pakistan’s planned relief assistance reflects its commitment to helping Nepal recover. The government has expressed solidarity with the victims and affected communities.
