PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has arrived in London from Paris, where he is expected to spend time with members of the Bhutto-Zardari family.
Bilawal reached London on Friday evening after a brief stay in Paris. According to sources, he had previously spent around a week in Austria before travelling to France.
His arrival comes as his sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari is also in London. She travelled with her husband, Mahmood Choudhry, and their children.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is also expected to join the family in London in the coming days. Sources said the family may stay in the British capital for around a week.
The family gathering comes shortly after Bilawal publicly rejected social media rumours about his alleged engagement and marriage to an Austrian royal.
Speculation had recently spread online claiming that Bilawal was preparing to marry an Austrian royal. Some reports also alleged that President Asif Ali Zardari had travelled to Austria with family members to discuss the proposed marriage.
Other claims suggested that a wedding date had been discussed. Some social media posts even linked the alleged wedding to the end of this year.
Bilawal rejected the reports and said social media had gone as far as getting him “engaged” and “married” despite no such development taking place.
He also said he did not know anyone referred to online as “Princess Gloria.” The PPP chairman urged people to ignore what he described as social media drama.
Bilawal said that any genuine decision about his personal life would be announced by his family. His comments effectively dismissed the marriage speculation that had gained attention online.
The PPP chairman also used his statement to raise concerns over healthcare and political remarks about Pakistan’s future.
He criticised the deaths of 14 children at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad. Bilawal questioned how a minister could discuss dividing Pakistan into 30 parts while allegedly being unable to manage a single hospital.
He also criticised remarks by a Lahore-based minister about the creation of new provinces. Bilawal argued that such major constitutional and political issues could not be decided through roadside discussions or business forums.
The PPP chairman also highlighted the historical role of the Sindh Assembly. He noted that it was the first provincial legislature to support the creation of Pakistan.
The arrival of Bilawal, along with Bakhtawar and her family, has drawn attention to the Bhutto-Zardari family’s movements in London. Aseefa’s expected arrival could bring more family members together in the city.
However, the recent family gathering comes against the backdrop of intense online speculation about Bilawal’s personal life. The PPP chairman has already publicly rejected the marriage claims and urged people to focus on more serious national issues.
