LUCKNOW – A shocking incident of gang rape has sent shockwaves through the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, where a newly married woman was gang-raped by eight men while on a picnic with her husband.

The sexual assault occurred on October 21, when the assailants overpowered the couple, assaulted the husband, and abducted him before subjecting the woman to rape. In a swift response, the Madhya Pradesh police arrested seven suspects in connection with the crime, while one suspect, identified as Rajnish Kori, remains at large. The arrested individuals are reportedly between the ages of 19 and 21, and authorities have recovered objectionable videos related to the incident from the suspects.
