The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has intensified its crackdown on illegal parking operations and overcharging in the city. Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza has tasked MCL Chief Officer Shahid Abbas Khatia with leading inspections, uncovering two illegal parking spots at Chowk Yateem Khana, including one found overcharging.

Similar actions were taken on Church Road and Hall Road, while two parking sites in Gulberg were also identified for illegal activities. Seven cases have been filed against violators.

Deputy Commissioner Raza emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward offenders, urging citizens to report illegal parking and overcharging through MCL and DC Lahore’s social media platforms. The MCL is also working to remove illegal gypsy encampments in the Iqbal Zone, having already dismantled four structures. These operations aim to restore order and regulate public spaces.

As part of broader city management efforts, authorities have issued final warnings to gypsies to vacate unauthorized settlements. New relocation areas are being planned, with the goal of improving Lahore’s urban environment and overall aesthetics.
