Both foreign head coaches of the Pakistan cricket team, Gary Kirsten for white-ball cricket and Jason Gillespie for Tests, have recommended that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refrain from taking disciplinary actions against players. They advise that the focus should be on preparing for the upcoming international season rather than addressing misconduct.
Initial discussions had considered forming a disciplinary committee to address player issues during tours of Ireland, England, and the World T20 Cup. However, no such committee has been established, as the PCB’s constitution requires the chairman to appoint independent committees to handle these matters.

According to a report, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had detailed discussions with head coaches Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten, as well as selectors Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq. They advised the board to focus on future performances rather than disciplinary issues.
The head coaches, in consultation with the captains, will manage players’ workloads and rest periods. Only players with persistent underperformance may be dropped for the upcoming season.
Pakistan is set to field a full-strength squad for the first Test against Bangladesh later this month. Jason Gillespie is expected to arrive in Rawalpindi by Monday to begin a training camp for the team’s probables.
