Five Terrorists, Key Leader Killed in Panjgur Operation

Security forces have killed five terrorists, including a key terrorist leader, during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, according to security sources.

The operation was conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna III in the Sarkini, Chidagi area of Panjgur after intelligence agencies received information about the presence of terrorists in the region.

According to security sources, the operation resulted in the deaths of five terrorists. Among those killed was Wazir Walid Jamal, who was identified as a key leader of the terrorist group.

Security forces also recovered a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition from the terrorists following the operation. The recovered items reportedly included four motorcycles, machine guns, heavy weapons and ammunition.

Officials said the intelligence-based action was part of continuing operations against terrorist networks operating in Balochistan. Security forces have been conducting such operations to disrupt militant activities and prevent attacks against civilians, traders and security personnel.

Terrorists Allegedly Involved in Multiple Crimes

Security sources said the terrorists killed during the Panjgur operation were allegedly involved in several criminal and militant activities in the area.

According to the sources, the group was involved in terrorism, looting, extortion and kidnapping of traders and local residents. These activities had reportedly created fear and insecurity among people living and working in the affected areas.

The alleged involvement of the terrorists in extortion and kidnapping had particularly affected members of the local business community. Traders and other residents have frequently faced security challenges in areas affected by militant activity.

The recovery of heavy weapons and ammunition during the operation also indicated the operational capability of the group targeted by security forces.

Clearance Operation Underway

Following the intelligence-based operation, security forces have launched a clearance operation in the surrounding area.

The clearance operation is aimed at identifying any remaining terrorists and ensuring that no members of the targeted network remain in the area. Security personnel are also searching for possible hideouts, weapons and other material that could be used in future terrorist activities.

Authorities have continued to stress the importance of intelligence-based operations in disrupting militant networks before they can carry out attacks.

The Panjgur operation comes amid ongoing security efforts across Balochistan, where security forces continue to target militant groups involved in attacks and other criminal activities.

Mohsin Naqvi Praises Security Forces

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised security forces following the operation and commended their efforts in eliminating the five terrorists.

In a statement, Naqvi specifically praised the professionalism of security personnel for killing Wazir Walid Jamal, whom officials described as a key terrorist leader.

The interior minister said security forces had successfully foiled what he described as the “nefarious designs” of foreign-backed elements.

Naqvi said the country’s security personnel were continuing their efforts to eliminate terrorism from Balochistan and other parts of the country.

He also described the country’s soldiers as a source of pride for the nation and said the Pakistani people remained united in the fight against terrorism.

Continued Security Operations in Balochistan

Balochistan remains a major focus of Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts, with security forces carrying out intelligence-based operations against militant groups in different districts.

Authorities have repeatedly emphasized the importance of eliminating terrorist networks, disrupting their financing and preventing them from targeting civilians and economic activity.

The latest operation in Panjgur demonstrates the continued focus on intelligence-led action against suspected terrorist hideouts. The recovery of weapons and ammunition could also provide investigators with additional information about the network targeted during the operation.

Security sources said the clearance operation would continue until the area had been fully searched.

The authorities have maintained that operations against terrorist groups will continue to protect local communities and prevent militant organizations from establishing strongholds in vulnerable areas.

The killing of five terrorists, including the alleged key leader Wazir Walid Jamal, marks another significant development in the ongoing security campaign in Balochistan. However, officials are expected to continue monitoring the area closely as the clearance operation progresses and further intelligence is assessed.
