The ICC has officially launched the logo, brand identity, and campaign theme for the 2027 Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup. The unveiling took place during a special ceremony in Johannesburg as preparations continue for one of cricket’s biggest global tournaments.
The 2027 edition will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The tournament will carry the theme “Three Nations, One Heartbeat,” highlighting the unity, diversity, and shared passion for cricket across the three host nations.
The new tournament logo places the iconic World Cup trophy at the center. It is surrounded by colorful circular shapes that represent togetherness and celebration. The design also features the official text, “ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup SA·ZIM·NAM·2027.”
According to the ICC, the tournament’s visual identity takes inspiration from the traditional African wire bowl. This object is widely recognized across Southern Africa as a symbol of hospitality, community, and unity.
The logo also reflects the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the host countries. Its color palette includes shades named Zimbabwe Chilli, African Root, Fynbos Pop, Namib Dune, Harare Dawn, and Two Oceans. These colors represent the landscapes and traditions of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
Along with the logo, the ICC introduced the campaign “Make the Circle Bigger.” The campaign aims to grow the game by inviting more fans from around the world to experience African culture and cricket. It also reflects the hosts’ goal of expanding the sport’s global reach.
The tournament branding is built around the African philosophy of Ubuntu, which means “I am because we are.” The concept promotes kindness, unity, respect, and strong human connections. Organizers believe this message reflects the spirit of the tournament and the values shared by the host nations.
The campaign also celebrates the region’s cultural diversity. Southern Africa is home to 29 officially recognized languages, and cricket continues to unite people from different backgrounds across the region.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah described the unveiling as a major milestone in the journey toward the 2027 World Cup. He said the launch of the official brand and host cities would increase excitement among cricket fans across the world.
Jay Shah also said the tournament’s return to Africa after 24 years is an important moment for international cricket. He expressed confidence that South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia would host a memorable event that showcases the region’s hospitality, passion, and rich culture.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta said the tournament would celebrate Africa’s people, landscapes, and strong cricket tradition. He added that the newly revealed brand identity reflects the energy and ambition of the upcoming event.
Gupta also believes the competition will leave a lasting legacy by encouraging more people to play cricket and inspiring future generations across the continent.
