Incarcerated PTI leader Yasmin Rashid was admitted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital (SKH) in Lahore on Monday, following a deterioration in her health. Her lawyer, Advocate Rana Mudassar Umer, reported that Rashid, who has been imprisoned for over a year in connection with multiple cases related to the May 9, 2023, riots, was transferred from the prison hospital due to serious health concerns.
Rashid was initially detained on May 12 last year under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance and later faced arrest for her alleged involvement in the riots following PTI founder Imran Khan’s arrest. Earlier in May, she had been hospitalized at Lahore’s Services Hospital after falling unconscious in Kot Lakhpat Jail.
