President Joe Biden has requested Netanyahu to dispatch a high-ranking delegation of military, intelligence, and humanitarian representatives to Washington for extensive deliberations in the coming days, Jean-Pierre stated.

While specific arrangements are still being finalized, Jean-Pierre indicated that the meeting is expected to occur in the early part of the upcoming week. She also emphasized the White House’s call for Israel to facilitate the flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza.
The statement from the White House spokesperson swiftly followed Netanyahu’s assertion that eradicating Hamas in Rafah necessitates a ground invasion by Israeli troops. Netanyahu’s remarks were prompted by a White House appeal to reassess strategies concerning the Gaza border city, which is densely populated with displaced Palestinians.
During a briefing with lawmakers, Netanyahu reiterated his commitment to President Biden to fully eradicate Hamas forces in Rafah, emphasizing that a ground operation is the only viable approach.
Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed opposition to an Israeli ground incursion into Rafah, highlighting concerns over potential catastrophic consequences for civilians in the area. Meloni emphasized the urgency of opening new land routes and a maritime corridor from Cyprus to Gaza to ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
