The committee’s responsibilities include recording statements from returning officers and district returning officers, and it has been given a three-day deadline to present its findings to the commission.
Additionally, the ECP mentioned that any decisions regarding potential legal actions, such as charges of contempt against the Rawalpindi commissioner, would depend on a comprehensive examination of the committee’s report.
The statement highlighted that the recent ECP meeting was attended in person by commission officials, while Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and Punjab ECP member Babar Hasan Bharwana participated remotely.
