Expressing his joy to the media after his win, Gilani extended gratitude to the voters, stating, “I am very pleased with the victory and thankful to the constituents who supported me. I am committed to advocating for their interests.”

Highlighting his dedication to continuing his father’s legacy, who served the constituency for over four decades, Gilani pledged, “Yousaf Raza Gilani served this constituency for 40 years. I will carry on serving the people of the constituency, following in my father’s footsteps, for the next five years.”

It’s worth noting that Ali Kasim Gilani is the son of Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, the former holder of the NA-148 seat, who resigned from the National Assembly, triggering this by-election.
