Workers at the aerospace group’s western France site reportedly experienced symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting. The specific cause of the illness stemming from the pre-Christmas feast remains unknown.
While Airbus informed the BBC that “around 100” individuals were affected, the Agence Régionale de Santé (ARS) reported a higher number.
Airbus stated that it is collaborating with ARS “to identify the cause of the illness and ensure this cannot happen again in the future.”

Airbus Atlantic, a division of the world’s largest airplane manufacturer, Airbus, has 15,000 employees across five countries. The Christmas meal occurred last week, and though ARS did not pinpoint the cause of the illness, it noted that some diners exhibited “clinical signs of vomiting or diarrhea.”
The company, in coordination with ARS, is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the widespread food poisoning.
The broader Airbus group, serving the aerospace, defense, space, and aviation industries with 134,000 employees globally, is known for providing goods and services.
This incident in France follows a previous case earlier in the year where a Greek national died, and others fell ill due to food contaminated with the rare foodborne illness botulism at a Bordeaux restaurant.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
