Due to potential delays of up to a month in processing physical cards, attributed to challenges in the tendering process, the department is actively working to expedite the process. As part of this effort, they are exploring alternative solutions, such as the implementation of virtual smart cards.

To formalize this shift, the department has formally requested approval from the provincial government for the virtual smart card initiative. Upon approval, vehicle owners will be able to easily obtain their virtual smart cards through online channels, streamlining the registration procedures.
The official website of the excise department will serve as the platform for downloading these virtual smart cards. These cards will contain identical information to their physical counterparts, including the vehicle’s registration number, owner details, and vehicle specifications.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
