[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Apple is preparing to release the ninth generation of its smartwatches. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Series 9 could be the most minor change in the product’s history.
The forthcoming Apple Watches will feature a faster chipset and a new colour palette, however these changes will be minor. If you already own a 2022 watch, upgrading to the newer models makes little sense.
This repeated pattern has apparently caused Apple to hold serious internal discussions on extending Watch generations – a strategy featuring longer gaps between upgrades followed by more significant improvements.
Apple is likely to stick with its annual release cycle, focusing on luring people away from other smartwatch companies rather than encouraging frequent upgrades among existing Apple Watch users.
The debut of the 10th generation is on the horizon, and unsurprisingly, Apple plans to call it the “Watch X.” In contrast to the Series 9, Gurman claims that the Watch X will be the most significant update in Apple Watch history.

This is consistent with the direction of watchOS 10, a full redesign of Apple’s wrist-worn operating system. It should be noted, however, that watchOS 10 will be made available for previous watch models, making it a feature that is not limited to the 2024 generation.
Apple is aggressively working to create a thinner case for the Watch X while also offering an innovative technique to wristband attachment – a break from their prior design.
According to insiders, the existing band connection technique takes up too much space that could otherwise be used to house a larger battery. Although a magnetic attachment system is being considered, it may not be ready for release this year.
Apple, which pioneered LTPO screens with the Watch Series 5, is now ready for the next evolutionary step: microLED displays. Furthermore, the Cupertino company has been working on a blood pressure sensor for some years, and it appears that this long-term endeavour will yield results in time for a 2024 reveal.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
