Top Surgeon kills patient at Ialamabad’s Famous Hospital

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Following the death of a patient during a surgical procedure, a team of doctors from Zimri Orthopaedic Hospital, a private medical facility located in G-8/4, has been charged with manslaughter.

The case was opened at Police Station Karachi Company after the deceased’s brother-in-law filed a complaint. Mohammad Sajid, 54, was taken to the hospital on July 11 after suffering a fracture and dislocation of his lower right leg in a serious accident on July 6.

A deposit of Rs. 250,000 was made for the operation, and the requisite medical tests were performed to prepare for the surgical intervention.

Mohammad Sajid was transported to the operating room on July 12 for the scheduled procedure. However, the matter took a fatal turn when the deceased’s son, Hamza, was notified by medics that his father had experienced a cardiac arrest during the treatment. Surprisingly, they chose not to inform Hamza about his tragic demise.

Faced with this terrible scenario, Hamza begged the attending doctor to transfer his father to another hospital with stronger emergency services. Despite his protestations, the physicians reassured him that Mohammad Sajid was safe, providing the family with a ray of hope during the traumatic ordeal. However, once the doctors’ team departed the hospital, the other personnel continued to give the bereaved family false optimism.

The distraught family was handed over Mohammad Sajid’s lifeless body in the evening. Devastated by their loss and suspicious of medical malpractice, they took urgent action and notified Safe City Islamabad, Rescue 15, and the police of the unfortunate situation.

The patient’s death is suspected to be the result of the doctors’ criminal negligence, according to the First Information Report (FIR) submitted. According to the FIR, the deceased was given an overdose of anaesthesia and outdated medication was utilised during the procedure, all of which contributed to the tragic conclusion. The FIR names the hospital’s owner, Dr. Fareedullah Khan Zimri, three other doctors, and a couple of staff members.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
