Gold prices in Pakistan continued their strong upward trend on Thursday, posting back-to-back gains as rising international bullion prices pushed domestic rates to their highest level in recent days.
According to the latest Saraffa market rates, the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs11,300 per tola on August 6, reaching Rs449,236 compared to Rs437,936 a day earlier. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also climbed by Rs9,688 to Rs385,147.
| Gold and Silver Prices | New Rate |
|---|---|
| Gold (Per Tola) | Rs449,236 |
| Gold (10 Grams) | Rs385,147 |
| International Gold (Per Ounce) | $4,268 |
| Silver (Per Tola) | Rs6,659 |
The latest increase follows Wednesday’s sharp rise of Rs10,000 per tola, taking the cumulative gain over the past two trading sessions to Rs21,300 per tola. The consecutive increases highlight the continued strength of both local and international gold markets.
In the global market, gold prices surged by $113 per ounce to $4,268, including a $20 premium. The rally has been driven by increased demand for safe-haven assets and continued strength in international bullion markets, which directly influences gold prices in Pakistan.
Silver prices also recorded gains, with the per-tola rate rising by Rs35 to Rs6,659, reflecting broader strength across the precious metals market.
In Lahore’s bullion market, 24-karat gold (piece) was quoted at Rs437,500 for buying and Rs436,500 for selling. Pathoor gold was available at Rs432,500 for buying and Rs430,500 for selling. Meanwhile, the price of 22-karat gold stood at Rs401,041 per tola, while 21-karat gold was quoted at Rs382,812. Tezabi silver was priced at Rs6,450, while a one-kilogram silver bar was available at Rs6,500.
Analysts say local gold prices are likely to remain sensitive to international market movements, geopolitical developments, and fluctuations in the US dollar, with investors continuing to monitor global economic conditions for further direction.
