The Punjab Police has introduced major changes to its employee welfare programs. The revised package covers scholarships, medical assistance, and marriage grants.
The new notification also increases financial support for the daughters of police employees. These changes are aimed at providing greater assistance to eligible police families.
Under the revised rules, the marriage gift for a police employee’s daughter has been set at Rs. 250,000. The amount is subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
For the daughter of an employee who dies during service, the marriage gift has been increased to Rs. 500,000. The daughter of a martyred employee will receive Rs. 750,000.
Applicants must submit their marriage gift claims within two years of the wedding. Claims submitted after this period may not qualify under the notified rules.
New Scholarship Amounts Announced
The Punjab Police has also revised scholarship support for children and families of employees. Different amounts have been set according to education levels.
Class IV employees will receive a one-time scholarship grant of Rs. 20,000. Students enrolled in FA and FSc programs will receive Rs. 50,000 annually.
Graduate students will receive an annual scholarship of Rs. 60,000. The revised amounts provide different levels of support based on the student’s educational stage.
The notification also includes financial assistance for special education. Eligible beneficiaries can receive monthly support of Rs. 75,000 or annual assistance under the applicable provisions.
Medical Assistance Revised
Medical support has also been included in the updated welfare measures. Eligible employees can receive financial assistance for different medical treatments.
The maximum medical assistance has been set at Rs. 1.5 million. The applicable amount depends on the treatment and eligibility requirements.
Separate assistance has been announced for cancer treatment. Serving employees can receive up to Rs. 1 million for cancer treatment.
Their wives and children can receive assistance of up to Rs. 500,000. The notification also provides financial support for minor surgical procedures.
Employees can receive Rs. 150,000 for minor surgery. Their wives and children can receive up to Rs. 100,000 for the same purpose.
Claims Must Be Filed Within Two Years
The revised notification also sets a deadline for medical claims. All medical claims must be submitted within two years.
The Punjab Police welfare measures provide financial assistance across several areas. These include education, marriage support, special education, cancer treatment, and surgery.
