SMS Registration for PM Fuel Subsidy Scheme Made Free

The government has made SMS registration free for the Prime Minister’s Fuel Subsidy Scheme. The facility was introduced on the directive of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

The decision aims to make the registration process easier for eligible vehicle owners. Applicants will no longer have to pay charges for the registration message.

The fuel subsidy scheme covers owners of motorcycles, rickshaws, and vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc. The program is available across Pakistan.

The coverage also includes Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Eligible applicants can use the designated SMS service to submit their registration details.

How to Register for the Fuel Subsidy

Applicants can complete SMS registration by sending a message to 9771. The message must contain specific vehicle and identification details.

Applicants need to type “REG” followed by a space. They must then enter their Computerized National Identity Card number.

The vehicle number plate must also be included in the message. Applicants are required to provide the first letter of the province.

The vehicle registration date must also be entered. These details are required to process the registration request.

The government has provided the SMS method to make access easier. Applicants can use their mobile phones without visiting an office for registration.

No Charges for Registration SMS

Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced the new facility.

She said the SMS service has been made free for consumers. All telecom operators have been directed not to deduct charges from users.

Previously, applicants were charged Rs. 1.40 for each registration SMS. The government has now removed this cost under the new arrangement.

The change means eligible applicants can submit their registration messages without paying the previous SMS fee.

The move is intended to facilitate people applying for fuel subsidy support. It also removes an additional cost from the registration process.

Scheme Covers Multiple Vehicle Categories

The Prime Minister’s Fuel Subsidy Scheme is designed to provide relief to specific vehicle owners. Motorcycles and rickshaws are included in the program.

Vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc also qualify under the scheme. The program is applicable throughout the country.

Applicants should ensure that the information entered during SMS registration is accurate. Incorrect details could affect the processing of their application.
