The Office of the Ombudsperson Punjab has announced new job and internship opportunities at its Lahore head office and regional offices across the province. The vacancies are available in IT, legal, clerical and support categories, with salaries of up to Rs160,000 per month.
Candidates with Punjab domicile are eligible to apply for the advertised positions. The deadline for applications is September 26, 2026. The office has also announced internships in law, IT and media, with selected interns set to receive a monthly stipend of Rs80,000.
According to the advertisement, appointments will initially be made for a period of six months. The contracts may be extended depending on the performance of the selected candidates and the requirements of the department.
The highest-paid position is Assistant Director (IT), which has one vacancy with a monthly salary of Rs160,000. The Data Processing Officer and Network Technician positions each offer Rs140,000, while three Law Officer positions carry a salary of Rs100,000.
The office is also hiring four Assistant or Legal Assistants at Rs80,000 each. Six Law Internees, one IT Internee and one Media Internee will also be recruited with a monthly stipend of Rs80,000.
Other vacancies include eight Stenographers with a salary of Rs55,000, one Junior Computer Operator at Rs52,000 and three Junior Clerks at Rs50,000. The support staff positions include Driver, Naib Qasid, Chowkidar, Sanitary Worker, Cook-cum-Khansama, Caretaker and Sweeper, with salaries ranging from Rs40,000 to Rs45,000.
Eligibility requirements vary according to the position. IT posts require relevant academic qualifications and between three and five years of experience. Candidates applying for Law Officer positions must have an LLB or equivalent qualification along with five years of practice as a High Court advocate.
For Assistant and Legal Assistant positions, applicants need the relevant qualification and three years of legal experience. Law internship candidates must hold an LLB, while IT internship applicants need a master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Media internship candidates must have a BBA, MA or 16 years of education. Intern applicants must be between 22 and 35 years old.
Candidates applying for Stenographer, Junior Computer Operator and Junior Clerk positions must generally have Intermediate education with at least a second division, along with the required typing or shorthand skills. Driver applicants need Matric education, a valid LTV or HTV driving licence and five years of driving experience.
For support positions, the required education varies from basic literacy to Middle or Matric qualification depending on the post. Age limits also vary, with applicable relaxation available under Punjab government rules.
Applicants for positions listed from Assistant Director (IT) to Junior Clerk must apply through the Punjab Jobs Portal. Applications submitted by hand, courier or email will not be accepted for these positions.
Candidates applying for Driver through Sweeper positions must submit their applications by courier. Attested copies of educational documents and relevant experience certificates should be attached with the application.
