Punjab Announces Rs60,000 Climate Internship for Graduates

The Punjab government has announced Batch III of the CM Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Programme Phase II. The initiative invites young graduates to gain practical experience in climate action.

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000 for three months. The programme is designed to provide professional training, mentorship and practical exposure in environmental sustainability.

The internship aims to develop young “Climate Warriors” who can contribute to climate and environmental initiatives. Participants will receive training through a structured learning system during the programme.

The programme includes an automatic merit-based selection process. Interns will also have access to a state-of-the-art Learning Management System.

The initiative will provide district-wise learning opportunities for selected candidates. Participants will also receive UNCC Certification as part of the internship programme.

Interns will have opportunities to gain field experience through Environmental Protection Agency offices. They may also receive exposure to strategic development, communication and climate policy units.

The programme will also include a Capstone Project. This will give participants an opportunity to apply their learning to practical climate-related work.

Expert mentorship will be another key part of the internship. Selected graduates will have the opportunity to learn from professionals working in climate and environmental fields.

The programme also promotes greater participation of women. According to the announcement, 50 percent of the available seats are reserved for female students.

A special quota has also been allocated for foreign graduates. This will allow eligible graduates from outside Pakistan to participate in the climate-focused initiative.

The internship is being offered for a period of three months. During this period, successful candidates will receive Rs60,000 per month as a stipend.

Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the official programme portal. Applicants should carefully review the eligibility requirements and provide accurate information while applying.

The deadline for applications is September 18, 2026. Candidates are encouraged to complete their applications before the closing date to avoid any last-minute issues.

The programme is part of Punjab’s efforts to build young professionals with knowledge and practical skills in climate action. It also seeks to connect graduates with government departments and field offices working on environmental issues.

The internship could provide participants with valuable professional exposure while helping them understand climate policy and environmental challenges at the district and provincial levels.
