Sikh student Onkar Singh has secured the second position in the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore Annual Matriculation Examinations 2026, earning widespread appreciation for his exceptional academic performance.
The outstanding achievement has been celebrated by students, teachers, and members of the Sikh community, with many praising Onkar Singh’s dedication and hard work.
Speaking after the announcement of the results, Onkar Singh expressed his happiness at securing one of the top positions in the Lahore board examinations.
“I am very happy to have secured this position,” he said, adding that the achievement was the result of consistent effort and the support of his family and teachers.
Onkar dedicated his success to his father, saying he had always dreamed of making him proud through academic excellence. He described his father as his greatest source of motivation and inspiration throughout his educational journey.
The high-achieving student also shared his future ambitions, revealing that he hopes to become a doctor just like his father.
“My dream is to become a doctor like my father,” Onkar Singh said while discussing his career goals.
This is not the first time the talented student has excelled academically. He revealed that he also secured the second position in the ninth-grade examinations, highlighting his consistent performance over the past two academic years.
Onkar further shared that during last year’s examinations, he achieved full marks in Islamic Studies and the translation of the Holy Quran, demonstrating his commitment to learning across all subjects.

Onkar Singh’s father, Dr. Mimpal Singh, who is a recipient of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, expressed immense pride over his son’s achievement.
He said his son’s success reflects Pakistan’s merit-based education system, where students are rewarded for their abilities regardless of their religious background.
“No one is given any advantage on the basis of religion in this country. My son’s position is an example of that,” Dr. Mimpal Singh said.
He added that he always encouraged his son to remain focused on his studies without placing unnecessary pressure on him, allowing him to pursue academic success with confidence and determination.
