The Sindh College Education Department has directed all public colleges, regional directorates, and attached offices across the province to establish official websites within 30 days, warning that failure to comply could result in administrative action.
The directive was issued through an official circular aimed at improving digital access to public services, increasing transparency, and enhancing communication between educational institutions and the public.
According to the department, several regional directorates and offices still do not operate official websites despite the growing importance of online access to government information and educational services.
Officials said the initiative is intended to ensure that students, parents, stakeholders, and the general public can easily access important institutional information and official announcements.
The circular instructs all concerned authorities, including the Director General, regional directors, principals, and directors of public colleges, to develop, launch, and maintain official websites for their respective institutions.
Under the new policy, every website must include key institutional information such as office profiles, contact details, notifications, circulars, public notices, staff directories, organizational structures, academic programs, admission procedures, available facilities, and graduation fee structures.
In addition, the department has directed institutions to provide downloadable forms, application documents, official policies, compliance information, and other materials required under government regulations.
The websites must also include an online grievance redressal or feedback mechanism to help improve communication with students and the public.
To facilitate implementation, the department’s IT wing will provide technical assistance covering website development, hosting, cybersecurity, standardization, and overall technical support.
Institutions have also been instructed to coordinate closely with the IT wing regarding website design, content migration, accessibility standards, ongoing maintenance, and data security.
According to the circular, all websites must be fully functional and publicly accessible within 30 days of the notification.
After completing the task, every institution will be required to submit a compliance report confirming that its website has been launched successfully.
The Sindh College Education Department emphasized that the deadline must be followed strictly and warned that failure to establish official websites within the prescribed timeframe could lead to action under the relevant rules and regulations.
The move forms part of the provincial government’s broader digital governance initiative aimed at improving transparency, public service delivery, and access to information across educational institutions.
