Barrister Gohar Urges Politicians Not to Politicize Martyrs

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday urged political leaders to refrain from dragging the country’s martyrs into political debates, emphasizing that the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces deserve respect and should remain above political differences.

Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said he had not listened to the complete speech delivered by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. However, he made it clear that he did not agree with the remarks reportedly made about the country’s martyrs.

The PTI chairman said Pakistan’s martyrs are the pride of the nation and have made the ultimate sacrifice for the country’s peace, security, and sovereignty. He stressed that their courage and dedication cannot be measured in material terms, adding that no salary, reward, or wealth in the world could compensate for the lives they gave in service to the nation.

Barrister Gohar paid tribute to the armed forces, saying the entire nation recognizes and values the sacrifices made by soldiers, officers, and other security personnel. He noted that countless members of the armed forces have laid down their lives while defending Pakistan against terrorism and external threats, and their contributions should always be remembered with honor and gratitude.

Highlighting the ongoing security challenges facing the country, the PTI chairman described terrorism as one of Pakistan’s most serious threats. He said the fight against terrorism requires unity among all political parties, institutions, and citizens, regardless of political affiliations or ideological differences.

He emphasized that national security should never become a point of political conflict and urged leaders across the political spectrum to act responsibly when discussing sensitive national issues. According to Barrister Gohar, protecting the country’s unity and maintaining respect for those who sacrificed their lives must remain a shared national responsibility.

“The blood of our martyrs will never go in vain,” he said, reiterating that Pakistan’s security forces have played a vital role in safeguarding the country and restoring peace through their continued efforts and sacrifices.

Barrister Gohar concluded by calling for national unity against terrorism, stressing that only through collective resolve and cooperation can Pakistan effectively counter security threats. He urged political leaders to rise above partisan interests when it comes to matters of national importance and reaffirmed that there should be no compromise on the country’s security, sovereignty, or the dignity of its martyrs.
