PM Shehbaz Orders Global Job Hunt for Pakistani Youth

PM Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant ministries and Pakistani missions abroad to intensify efforts to secure employment opportunities for the country’s youth, with a special focus on expanding access to international job markets.

Chairing a high-level review meeting in Islamabad on Monday, the Prime Minister instructed Pakistani embassies to actively identify overseas vacancies for skilled workers. He emphasized that diplomatic missions should provide real-time information on required qualifications, certifications, and skill demands to help Pakistani candidates remain competitive in the global workforce.

To simplify the overseas employment process, PM Shehbaz ordered the complete digitization of the Protectorate of Emigration system. The move aims to reduce bureaucratic delays and make it easier for Pakistanis to apply for jobs abroad.

The Prime Minister also directed the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme to provide specialized technical training, foreign language courses, and internationally recognized certifications. He said aligning local skills with international standards is essential to improve the global employability of Pakistan’s workforce.

Officials informed the meeting that more than 800,000 young people have already registered on the Digital Youth Hub portal. The platform will now serve as a central repository for overseas job opportunities in sectors including healthcare, information technology, construction, and biotechnology, with Pakistani embassies directly uploading verified vacancies.

PM Shehbaz reiterated that equipping young people with modern skills, training, and employment opportunities remains one of the government’s top priorities to promote sustainable economic growth through human resource development.
