Qatar Condemns Iran Attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait

Qatar has strongly condemned Iran’s missile and drone attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as violations of the sovereignty of both countries and calling for renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation in the region.

In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the repeated attacks constituted “a blatant violation” of the sovereignty of Bahrain and Kuwait and a breach of international law.

The ministry stressed the importance of shielding the region from further instability and urged all parties to continue dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions.

Qatar also called on regional stakeholders to build on the progress achieved through the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, saying its implementation could help strengthen regional and international peace and security.

The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait amid the latest developments.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Strait of Hormuz would remain under Iran’s full oversight for the next 30 days.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Baghdad alongside Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Araghchi said Tehran is working to fully restore the strategic waterway’s operational capacity once remaining obstacles are removed.

He maintained that responsibility for managing the Strait of Hormuz rests solely with Iran and warned that unilateral intervention by other parties would worsen the situation and delay the reopening process.

Araghchi also called on the United States to ensure that all provisions of the memorandum of understanding with Iran are fully implemented, including measures he said require Israel to halt military operations in Lebanon.
