The Balochistan government has allocated Rs144 billion for the Education Department in its Budget 2026-27, reflecting a 15 percent increase compared to the previous fiscal year.
According to budget documents, Rs115 billion of the total allocation has been earmarked for school education, highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening educational infrastructure and services across the province.
As part of its education reforms, the provincial government has also set aside Rs8 billion for the upgradation of schools. Under the initiative, primary schools will be upgraded to middle schools, while middle schools will be converted into high schools to improve access to higher levels of education.
The budget also includes plans to create 3,000 new positions in the Education Department, aimed at addressing staffing needs and improving educational service delivery.
In addition, the cluster budget has been increased from Rs2.5 billion to Rs2.9 billion, providing additional resources to support schools and education-related programs.
During the budget speech, provincial authorities described education as a top priority and emphasized their commitment to improving education quality and expanding learning opportunities throughout Balochistan.
Officials said the increased allocation is part of broader efforts to strengthen the province’s education sector and support long-term human capital development.
