Government Raises Kerosene Oil Price to Rs280.70 Per Litre

The federal government has increased the price of kerosene oil by Rs8.70 per litre, with the revised rate coming into effect from June 6, 2026. The latest adjustment is part of the government’s ongoing review of petroleum product prices in response to changes in international oil markets.

Following the increase, the new price of kerosene oil has been fixed at Rs280.70 per litre, compared to the previous rate of Rs272 per litre. Kerosene remains an important fuel source for many households and businesses, particularly in remote and mountainous regions of the country.

The increase comes alongside the government’s latest fuel price review, under which petrol prices were reduced while high-speed diesel prices remained unchanged. Officials stated that varying international market trends have affected different petroleum products in different ways, resulting in separate pricing decisions.

According to the latest notification, the price of petrol was reduced by Rs4 per litre. Petrol is now available at Rs377.78 per litre, down from Rs381.78 per litre, providing some relief to motorists. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been maintained at Rs380.78 per litre without any change.

Authorities said the latest revision reflects continued fluctuations in global crude oil prices and petroleum product costs. Pakistan regularly adjusts domestic fuel prices based on international market conditions, exchange rate movements, and other relevant economic factors.

The government has implemented several fuel price revisions in recent weeks as global energy markets remain volatile. While the reduction in petrol prices is expected to benefit consumers, the increase in kerosene prices may add pressure on households and sectors that rely heavily on the fuel for daily use.
