Pakistan is celebrating Eid ul Azha today with deep religious devotion and traditional spirit, as millions of Muslims across the country commemorate the historic sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS). The sacred occasion began with special Eid prayers offered in mosques, Eidgahs, and open grounds in cities, villages, and towns nationwide.
Worshippers gathered early in the morning to pray for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the Muslim Ummah, while also seeking stability and progress for Pakistan. Religious scholars, during Eid sermons, explained the true message behind Eid ul Azha and highlighted the lessons of obedience, patience, sincerity, sacrifice, and complete trust in Allah demonstrated by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).
Following the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), Muslims across Pakistan are performing animal sacrifices and distributing meat among relatives, neighbors, and underprivileged families. The spirit of sharing and compassion remains one of the central values of Eid ul Azha celebrations.
To maintain peace and order during the festive holidays, federal and provincial authorities implemented strict security measures in major cities and sensitive areas. Law enforcement agencies remained on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents during Eid gatherings and sacrificial activities.
Meanwhile, local administrations in several cities arranged special cleanliness drives and waste disposal operations to ensure proper removal of animal remains and maintain hygiene during the Eid holidays.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended Eid ul Azha greetings to the nation and Muslims worldwide.
In his message, President Zardari stated that Eid ul Azha teaches Muslims the values of sacrifice, loyalty, patience, and obedience to Allah. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the occasion should also remind people to care for the poor and needy and include them in the happiness of Eid celebrations.
