The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched a new Universal Access Number for Emergency-15. The system allows citizens to contact emergency services from anywhere in Pakistan and abroad.
The initiative was introduced on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. It aims to improve emergency response access across Punjab.
Officials said the system addresses a long-standing issue. Previously, calls made to Emergency-15 from outside Punjab were routed to local emergency systems. This often caused delays in assistance.
The new facility ensures that all calls are directly connected to the Punjab Police. It improves coordination and reduces response time in emergencies.
Overseas Pakistanis also faced difficulties in contacting emergency services in Punjab. They often struggled to reach authorities during urgent situations involving family or property.
Under the new system, citizens outside Punjab can dial 042-111-111-015. Overseas Pakistanis can use +92-42-111-111-015. The service is available 24 hours a day.
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority said the system is designed for fast and reliable access. It supports emergency response services across multiple categories.
The Universal Access Number also connects citizens to additional support services. These include the Virtual Women Police Station and Virtual Centre for Child Safety.
Other services linked to the system include the Virtual Blood Bank, Traffic Services, and Psychological Support. Free Legal Aid and Meesaq Minority Help Line are also available.
Officials said this integrated system improves public safety across Punjab. It ensures citizens receive timely assistance in critical situations.
The PSCA described the project as a modern technology-based solution. It is aimed at strengthening emergency communication services in the province.
Authorities believe the system will benefit citizens living outside Punjab. It will also help overseas Pakistanis in urgent situations.
Officials added that the initiative reflects the government’s focus on digital transformation. It is part of broader efforts to modernize emergency services in Punjab.
