Punjab Provides Assistive Devices to Special Persons in Faisalabad

The government of Punjab has distributed assistive devices among Special Persons in Faisalabad. The initiative includes wheelchairs, electric bikes, and hearing aids to support mobility and independence.

The distribution ceremony was held under the Social Welfare Department. Officials said the program aims to improve living standards for Special Persons across the district.

Deputy Director Social Welfare Amina Alam said the Punjab government is committed to inclusive welfare. She added that assistive devices are being provided to ensure social protection and equal opportunities.

She explained that Faisalabad has already distributed 298 assistive devices under the ongoing program. This effort is designed to support Special Persons in daily life activities.

In the latest phase, 13 individuals received new support equipment. These included electric bikes, motorized wheelchairs, and hearing aid devices.

Officials said the goal is to help Special Persons improve access to education, jobs, and social participation. The support also focuses on increasing independence and confidence.

The distribution included four electric bikes, two motorized wheelchairs, and seven hearing aids. Authorities said this reflects a targeted approach based on individual needs.

Several government and welfare representatives attended the ceremony. These included former Member of Assembly Hajji Akram Ansari and other officials from the Social Welfare Department.

Representatives from Saylani Welfare Trust also participated in the event. They supported the initiative by distributing clothing items among Special Persons as gifts.

Officials said such collaborations help strengthen community support systems. They also highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in welfare programs.

The Social Welfare Department stated that the program is part of a broader policy. It aims to ensure that Special Persons are not left behind in development efforts.

They added that assistive technologies play an important role. These tools help improve communication, mobility, and overall quality of life.

Families of beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Punjab Chief Minister. They appreciated the government’s focus on supporting vulnerable groups, especially Special Persons.

They also thanked the Social Welfare Department for addressing practical needs. Officials said similar programs will continue to expand in other districts.
