Babar Virat blue ticks

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]In an odd turn of events, popular cricketers Virat Kohli and Babar Azam recently lost their verified badges on Twitter for an odd reason – failure to pay a small sum of $8 to Elon Musk’s Twitter account.

It all began when Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of SpaceX and Tesla, tweeted that he was selling one of his homes and would give verified Twitter users first priority. Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, both verified on Twitter, responded to the tweet by expressing interest in purchasing the house. Elon Musk responded to their tweets by asking them to send him $8 via PayPal in order to be verified.

However, it appears that neither Kohli nor Azam sent the payment, and as a result, they lost their verified badges on Twitter. The verified badge is a blue checkmark that appears next to a user’s name on Twitter and indicates that their account is authentic and belongs to a notable public figure.

Fans of the cricketers were quick to notice the loss of the verified badge and expressed their disappointment on social media. Some even speculated that the incident was a publicity stunt or a prank.

However, a spokesperson for Twitter confirmed that the removal of the verified badge was due to non-payment of the $8 fee to Elon Musk’s Twitter account. The spokesperson further stated that the badge could be reinstated if the payment was made.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
