The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has introduced a cashless payment system for driving license fees, enabling citizens to complete transactions digitally without the need to visit banks.
The initiative was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Asghar Ali as part of broader efforts to modernize public services and make the process more convenient for applicants. With this new system, individuals can now pay their driving license fees through mobile financial platforms such as Easypaisa, JazzCash, and various banking applications, making the process quicker and more accessible.
To support this digital shift, the NHMP has partnered with the National Bank of Pakistan to install QR code payment machines at the Islamabad Driving Licensing Authority. These machines allow applicants to scan and pay instantly, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience. Authorities have also confirmed that similar facilities are being introduced in other cities, including Sheikhupura and Quetta, as part of a plan to expand the service across the country.
Officials believe that the new system will significantly reduce processing times and improve efficiency. By removing the requirement for physical bank visits, it minimizes delays and simplifies the overall procedure. Additionally, applicants will benefit from real-time payment confirmations, reducing uncertainty and improving transparency.
The move reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and improved service delivery. By adopting modern payment solutions, the NHMP aims to enhance user experience while ensuring a more efficient and streamlined licensing process for citizens nationwide.
