The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for upper and central districts of Sindh, warning that temperatures will rise significantly in the coming days.
According to the department, daytime temperatures are expected to remain 4 to 6 degrees above normal from April 28 until May 3, creating intense weather conditions.
Most areas of the province are likely to experience hot and dry weather, with strong sunlight and limited relief during daytime hours.
Districts including Jamshoro, Dadu, Benazirabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sanghar, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur are expected to be most affected.
However, Karachi is not expected to face a heatwave, although temperatures may still rise to around 36°C in the coming days.
Officials added that humidity levels could reach up to 60 percent, making the heat feel more intense than the actual recorded temperature.
Meanwhile, Lahore experienced light to heavy rainfall early Tuesday, bringing temporary relief and a cooler atmosphere.
Thunderstorms were also reported in northern regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan, Gujrat, Lodhran, Vehari, Burewala, Rahim Yar Khan, and Rajanpur.
In Jahania, three people were injured after a wall collapsed during heavy rainfall, highlighting risks associated with sudden weather changes.
Low-lying areas in Qambar Shahdadkot, Sukkur, and Shikarpur faced flooding, while Ghotki and Ubaro received light rain accompanied by strong winds.
The meteorological department forecasts that most parts of the country will remain hot and dry, with chances of isolated rain in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
