Ticket prices on resale platforms have soared ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match between Portugal national football team and Croatia national football team in Toronto, with the average price of the cheapest ticket exceeding $3,000.
According to price-tracking website Ticketdata, the average price for the lowest-priced resale ticket reached $3,225 late on Saturday, making it the most expensive Round of 32 fixture on secondary ticket marketplaces.
Portugal finished second in Group K after being held to a draw by Colombia national football team in Miami, while Croatia secured second place in Group L with a victory over Ghana national football team.
The July 2 encounter at Toronto Stadium is expected to feature a high-profile showdown between Cristiano Ronaldo and his former Real Madrid CF teammate Luka Modrić.
Ticketdata, which tracks prices on resale platforms including StubHub and Vivid, reported that ticket prices more than doubled after Portugal’s final group-stage match, highlighting the impact of the dynamic pricing system introduced by FIFA for the tournament.
The pricing model allows ticket prices to fluctuate based on demand, a practice commonly used for concerts and sporting events in the United States. Earlier in the tournament, resale prices for several group-stage matches had already surpassed $1,000.
FIFA has advised supporters to purchase tickets only through its official resale platform, stating that it is the only marketplace where the governing body can guarantee the secure transfer and delivery of tickets.
