Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan was shifted from Adiala Jail to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on April 28 for a scheduled eye treatment procedure.
According to medical sources, he underwent his fourth intravitreal anti-VEGF injection as part of ongoing treatment aimed at preventing further vision complications.
Before the procedure, a specialist ophthalmologist carried out a full medical assessment and confirmed that his condition was stable for the treatment.
Doctors also conducted an Optical Coherence Tomography scan, which showed signs of improvement in his eye condition compared to earlier reports.
The injection was administered under microscopic guidance, following strict medical protocols to ensure safety and accuracy during the procedure.
Throughout the treatment, his vital signs remained normal, and no complications were observed, allowing doctors to complete the process smoothly.
He was discharged later the same day with post-treatment care instructions and a follow-up plan for continued monitoring of his recovery.
Medical experts state that anti-VEGF therapy is widely used to control abnormal blood vessel growth in the eye and help protect patients from vision loss.
