PSL Launches First-ever Pashto Language Commentary

The Pakistan Super League has announced a new initiative by introducing Pashto-language commentary for the first time, a move widely seen as a positive step toward inclusivity and fan engagement. This development is expected to resonate strongly with Pashto-speaking audiences, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, by allowing them to experience matches in their native language.

The initiative has been launched in collaboration with Peshawar Zalmi, one of the league’s prominent teams. As part of the plan, Pashto commentary will be made available through digital platforms during Zalmi’s remaining fixtures in the tournament. The goal is to deepen the connection between the team and its regional fan base while making the viewing experience more accessible and culturally relevant for Pashto-speaking cricket enthusiasts.

At the same time, the tournament is moving into its decisive phase with high-stakes matches ahead. Peshawar Zalmi is set to face Islamabad United in an upcoming qualifier. The outcome of this match will be crucial, as a victory will secure Zalmi a direct spot in the final. However, if they lose, they will still have another opportunity to reach the final through the eliminator round.

The grand finale of PSL season 11 is scheduled to take place on May 3 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The match will feature the two top-performing teams of the tournament, battling it out for the championship title. With the addition of Pashto commentary, the league aims to enhance the overall viewing experience and expand its reach among diverse linguistic communities across Pakistan.
