Islamabad’s CDA Accused of Lavish Spending Despite Financial Crisis

According to reports, the government has given Rs. 13.82 million in ex-gratia to 180 officials in exchange for the sale of CDA’s commercial and residential properties.

Members of the auction committee were paid four months’ basic salary, while other officials and personnel from BS-12 to BS-18 were paid one month’s basic salary. Despite ongoing economic difficulties, the CDA has continued to auction off valuable land to fund its excessive spending.

Despite the Prime Minister’s austerity measures, CDA members and officials are said to be hesitant to give up their benefits and privileges.

Personnel in CDA grades seventeen and above, for example, receive a 150% Executive Allowance, whereas employees on deputation receive excessive allowances, wages, and perks.
