The Kuwaiti government has strongly rejected social media claims alleging that luxury residential towers and high-rise buildings in the southern region of the country were targeted in attacks.
The Ministry of Interior Kuwait, through its Cybercrime Department, labeled the circulating reports as false and without foundation. Speaking to local media, First Lieutenant Dhari Al-Awadhi stated that misleading information, including edited and fabricated video clips, is being widely shared online. He cautioned that spreading such rumors could threaten national security and create unnecessary fear among citizens, adding that authorities are carefully monitoring online activity.
Al-Awadhi advised the public not to trust unverified content on social media and to rely only on official statements issued by government institutions. He stressed that the Cybercrime Department is actively identifying and tracking accounts responsible for spreading misinformation and warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals who publish or promote false reports that disrupt public order.
Officials noted that these rumors are emerging at a time of heightened regional tensions, which has contributed to public concern. However, they firmly confirmed that there is no verified evidence of any attacks on residential buildings anywhere in Kuwait.
Authorities continue to urge citizens and residents to confirm news through reliable official channels and to avoid sharing unconfirmed claims that may cause panic. Al-Awadhi also encouraged social media users to behave responsibly and contribute to maintaining calm within the community. He further mentioned that inquiries or reports can be directed to the Cybercrime Department through its official WhatsApp contact
